This Privacy Policy applies to Iota Services Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) and its affiliates in relation to their operations and explains how we handle personal information (which includes sensitive and health information) and comply with the requirements of applicable privacy laws. As a subsidiary of South East Water Corporation (“SEW”), we may, depending on the circumstances, be subject to the following privacy laws (“Privacy Laws”):

  1. the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth);
  2. the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic); and
  3. the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

We recognise the importance of your privacy, and that you have a right to control how your personal information is collected and used.

1. Collection of personal information

1.1 We collect personal information from customers (existing and prospective), suppliers, contractors, shareholders, prospective employees, and consumers and other individuals for various business and other purposes further listed in section 2.2 below. In this section, we explain the types of personal information which we usually collect as well as how we collect this information.

1.2 The types of personal information we will collect from you will depend on the circumstances in which that information is collected. It may include:

1.2.1 contact details (i.e. your name, address, email, phone and facsimile details);

1.2.2 information about your employment (eg, place of work, position, authority to transact with us, etc.)

1.2.3 information required for you to open a trading account with us or otherwise do business with us including bank account details, credit card information, information obtained through credit checks and any other relevant financial information;

1.2.4 information on prior dealings with Iota;

1.2.5 information about your employment history or skillset required as part of a recruitment process;

1.2.6 statistical information regarding the use of the Iota websites, including the domains from which website users visit, IP addresses, the dates and times of visits, activities undertaken on our website and other clickstream data;

1.3 We routinely collect personal information from a range of sources, including:

1.3.1 our websites;

1.3.2 orders for products or services;

1.3.3 employment applications;

1.3.4 third party service providers;

1.3.5 requests for brochures, to join a mailing list or to be contacted for further information about our products or services;

1.3.6 warranty claims;

1.3.7 provision of customer service and support;

1.3.9 entries into competitions or trade promotions conducted by us or on our behalf;

2.2 Our main purposes for collecting, holding, using and disclosing personal information include the following:

2.2.1 to notify our customers about our new or existing products and services;

2.2.2 to distribute educational material and general information relating to our activities, water conservation and related matters;

2.2.3 to supply products or services to our customers;

2.2.4 to obtain products and services from our suppliers;

2.2.5 to respond to enquiries from existing or prospective customers seeking information about our products or services;

2.2.6 to assess and process warranty claims;

2.2.7 to process and assess employment applications;

2.2.8 to enforce agreements between you and Iota;

2.2.9 to undertake research and surveys and analyse statistical information;

2.2.10 to conduct competitions and trade promotions;

2.2.11 to monitor usage of our website;

2.2.12 to comply with legislative and our policy requirements, including in relation to occupational health and safety and environmental matters;

2.2.13 to provide information to, and respond to queries from, shareholders; and

2.2.14 to improve our services.

2.3 We will only use or disclose personal information for a purpose other than for which it was collected or a related purpose if you have consented to such different use or disclosure or such use or disclosure is otherwise allowed by the Privacy Laws.

2.4 In carrying out our business, it may be necessary to share information about you with and between our related bodies corporate and organisations that provide services to us (eg, our alliance partners). In particular, we may disclose personal information to our parent company, SEW, for the purposes of SEW providing administrative support to our business.

2.5.1 it is required or authorised by law;

2.5.2 a permitted general situation exists under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth);

2.5.3 we believe it is necessary to provide you with a product or service which you have requested;

2.5.4 it is necessary to protect the rights, property or personal safety of any of our customers, any member of the public or our interests;

2.5.5 the assets and operations of our business are transferred to another party as a going concern; or

2.5.6 you have provided your consent.

3. Service providers

3.1 Like most large organisations, we use a range of service providers to help us maximise the quality and efficiency of our services and our business operations. This means that individuals and organisations outside of Iota, such as mail houses, will sometimes have access to personal information held by us and may use it on behalf of us. We require our service providers to adhere to strict privacy obligations and not to keep this information or use it for any unauthorised purposes.

4. Disclosure of information outside the jurisdiction of collection

4.1 From time to time we may disclose personal information to a person who is outside of Australia and its external territories.

4.2 Where we send your information to outside of Australia we make sure that appropriate information handling and security arrangements are in place and that there are mechanisms available to enforce those arrangements.

5. Direct marketing

5.1 Like most businesses, marketing is important to our business’ success. From time to time we send marketing materials to current or prospective customers or specifiers. We only do so in accordance with applicable Privacy Laws or with your prior consent.

9. Recruitment

9.1 If you send us an application for a position, this information will be used to assess your application. This information may be disclosed to related bodies corporate and service providers for purposes such as:

9.1.1 aptitude, psychological and medical testing; and

9.1.2 other human resources management activities.

9.2 As part of the application process, you may be asked for your specific consent to the use and disclosure of certain personal information about any pre-employment medical examination or any aptitude or psychological testing. We may also ask you to consent to the disclosure of your personal information to those people who you nominated to provide references.

Our file of your information will usually be made available to you within 14 days unless the applicable laws prevent us from giving you access to the personal information we hold about you.

11. Security of your personal information

11.1 We will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information which we hold about you, and to keep this information accurate, up to date and complete. We require our employees and data processors to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by us.

WARRANTY

These specific warranties are intended to be strictly in addition to and not in substitution for or derogation of any other warranties or guarantees required or implied by statute or other law within Australia. To the extent they may express or imply any departure from such guarantees or warranties those warranties and guarantees shall apply to their full effect and the express or implied departures shall not apply.
Priority Plumbing provides the following service warranty/guarantees:

Sewer blockages

All sewer clearances cleared with a full-size cutter with the removal of tree roots only attract a six month warranty on workmanship unless there further blockages during the six months occur due to external factors or actions such as a broken pipe, fats or if objects are found to be the cause of the blockage e.g. sanitary products, nappies or other unknown products).

 

General plumbing less than $750

All general plumbing up to $750 in value attracts a three month warranty on workmanship. Product warranties apply as per information provided by the manufacturer/supplier.

 

General plumbing greater than $750

All general plumbing greater than $750 in value attracts a six year warranty on workmanship as per the Victorian Building Association Standard AS/NZS 3500. If the value of work is greater than $ 750, you will be issued with a certificate of compliance that details the works undertaken.
